2025 may only just be starting, but it’s already stacked in terms of cosy games. I’ve put together this list of 24 cosy games confirmed to be launching this year, which you can learn all about right here.

Become a Hobbit in Tales of the Shire

Set in the world of The Lord of the Rings, Tales of the Shire is a cosy simulation game developed by Weta Workshop that allows you to experience the life of a Hobbit. Create your own Hobbit and contribute to the development of Bywater: elevate it to village status within Hobbiton by completing daily activities.

Decorate your Hobbit hole and engage in the usual cosy activities of farming, foraging, gardening, fishing, cooking, and trading, and don’t forget to make friends with the residents of Bywater while seasonal changes and weather affect their routines.

Tales of the Shire will be released on March 25th, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.

Rejuvenate a lost island in Sugardew Island

Inspired by classic farming games like Harvest Moon, rokaplay’s Sugardew Island sees you get shipwrecked on a deserted island that was once inhabited by humans, animals, and Forest Folk. Run a farm, care after animals, garden, and sell goods to the Forest Folk.

Upgrade your farm and home, completely customise your character, gather resources, and fulfil orders from the Harmony Tree to rejuvenate the island when the game launches in March 2025 for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.

Explore a mysterious island in Hello Kitty Island Adventure

Join Hello Kitty and friends as they attempt to restore a mysterious island. Explore the island and discover its eight unique regions, solve ancient puzzles, cook, dive into the ocean’s depths, and enjoy year-round events but don’t forget to keep an eye on the changing weather!

Meet more than 40 iconic Hello Kitty and Friends characters. Befriend them and utilise their special power-ups and abilities while exploring, while also renovating cabins and decorating them to attract new visitors to the island with unique quests and storylines.

Available now on Apple devices via Apple Arcade, Hello Kitty Island Adventure will be released on Nintendo Switch and PC on January 30th, 2025. It will release on PlayStation later in 2025.

Care for animals as a rancher in Wish Upon A Llama

As Llama Town’s dedicated rancher, you’re tasked with caring for and loving your animals, including llamas, rabbits, geese, capybaras, pigs, sheep, fish, frogs, and more. Take your animals on walks, interact with them, and find and befriend other wild animals in a procedurally-generated forest.

Breed animals with inheritable genetic traits, meet and befriend a diverse cast of villagers, discover romance and start your own family, and enjoy town activities like town cleaning, spelling bees, and more.

Wish Upon A Llama will be released in 2025 for PC via Steam.

Inzoi may just be the most realistic life-sim around

Inzoi is an upcoming life-simulation game, which allows you to alter any aspect of the game’s world to create unique stories and experiences. Find jobs to make a living, interact with other characters to form deep relationships, and experience the unexpected events life has to offer.

With more advanced customisation options than most life sims, Inzoi allows you to customise your character’s appearance and outfit, build and customise your home with freely-movable furniture, and make changes to your property and its surrounding areas, and parts of your residing city, too.

Inzoi will be released on March 28th, 2025 for PC via Steam. Versions for PlayStation and Xbox will launch at a later date.

Will Paralives be the competitor The Sims needs?

Create Parafolk with some of the most advanced tools around, letting you adjust your characters’ height and facial and body features. Construct their home with grid-less building, curved walls, resizable objects, split level floors, custom-shaped stairs, and more.

Manage your Parafolks’ life; spend time with pets, focus on their career, chase romance, enjoy hobbies, or spark chaos while enjoying an open-world neighbourhood with restaurants, beaches, shops, parks, and more.

Paralives is expected to launch in Early Access in 2025 for PC and macOS via Steam.

Manage a cosy bookshop in Tiny Bookshop

Leave your past life behind and open a small, travelling bookshop. Stock your shop with different books and items, set up your shop in scenic locations, and decorate your bookshop with items you collect, from plants to spooky candles and more, all of which have an effect on your customers and introduce new mechanics.

Recommend customers the right book, get to know the locals of the game’s coastal town Bookstonbury-by-the-Sea, and uncover the town’s history and secrets by collecting items and growing your stamp collection.

Tiny Bookshop will be released in 2025 for PC via Steam.

Nivalis is a Cyberpunk life-sim like no other

Set in the neon-lit Cyberpunk city of Nivalis, you’re tasked with managing a business. Start small with a food or noodle stand, or a stim store, and then work you up to bars, restaurants, or even nightclubs to own all nightlife in the city.

Choose how to spend your time in Nivalis; buy or grow your own ingredients for your business, explore the city, go fishing, buy and decorate a home, form relationships with the city’s residents and your customers, and potentially even find love.

Nivalis will be released for PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store in 2025.

Pack away belongings and uncover memories in One Move Away

One Move Away is a first-person cosy puzzle game developed by Ramage Games and published by Playstack that was announced at the 2024 Game Awards. According to the official Steam description, the game requires you to pack belongings and load them into a car – neat or messy – before starting a new journey.

Experience three interwoven storylines across more than 20 levels when One Move Away launches in 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. Anyone interested in trying the demo can voice their interest here.

Make thrilling new discoveries in Dave the Diver‘s In the Jungle DLC

In the Jungle is a brand-new DLC coming to Dave the Diver, following Dave and the Blue Hole crew as they head to a jungle to meet “new friends”, find new locations, and uncover “thrilling new discoveries”. The DLC will be released on PC via Steam, Nintendo Switch, and PlayStation consoles via PS+ in late 2025.

Embrace the tea in Wanderstop

Run your very own teashop in Wanderstop, an upcoming management game from the creator of The Stanley Parable. Playing as a fallen fighter named Alta, you’re tasked with managing a tea shop located in a magical forest and tending to the customers who pass through.

To do so, you’ll need to grow and harvest ingredients for your tea, mix them, and befriend customers to learn about their stories and which tea is best for them. Decorate the shop how you like, tidy the space around it, or simply take some time to yourself.

Wanderstop will be released on March 11, 2025, for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.

Koira is the game for dog and puzzle lovers

Befriend a lost puppy and navigate a mythical forest and its shaded groves, snowy hills, and dark caves. Feed your puppy, take care of it, and play with it, while escaping hunters with stealth and solving puzzles to restore the ancient forest and activate its mysterious monuments.

Koira will be released on April 17th, 2025, for PlayStation and PC via Steam.

Enjoy the life of a coastal metropolis in Sunkissed City

Sunkissed City is a life-sim set in the upbeat seaside metropolis of Apollo City. As a new hire for the monolithic Pico corporation’s new Peco Pioneer pilot program, you’re tasked with forging a relationship with the city’s vibrant community, but it’s struggling. Wild animals roam the streets, monsters are ravaging the community, and everyone has been suffering from constant migraines.

Completely customise your character, socialise with the city’s residents, find love, and, working with the mysterious forest creatures known as the Keby, help rejuvenate Apollo City while playing alone or with friends.

Sunkissed City will be released in 2025 for PC via Steam.

Loftia pushes you to collaborate and make the world a better place

Loftia is an upcoming multiplayer game where you’re tasked with working with other players to build a brighter, more sustainable future by farming, crafting, and exploring. Unlock resources, uncover hidden stories, and customise your own personal floating island while joining with others to create expanding neighbourhoods.

Loftia will enter Steam Early Access in late 2025. It will also launch on macOS and Nintendo Switch.

Solarpunk lets you explore floating islands in customisable airships

Solarpunk is an upcoming survival game that is set in a technically advanced world of floating islands, where you, either alone or with friends, must construct buildings, farm, craft gadgets, an explore distant islands with unique airships, all while using sunlight, water, and wind as your core energy systems.

Solarpunk is expected to release in 2025 for PC via Steam, Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma is a new take on the classic farming sim

A spin-off in the classic Rune Factory series, Guardians of Azuma is set in the eastern nation of Azuma. You take on the role of an Earth Dancer and must use unique abilities to restore the land, its people, and its god. The game combines farming with action-RPG elements and town-building mechanics, pushing you to build farms and villages, battle monsters, and form bonds with the residents of your village.

Rune Factory: Guardians of Azuma will be released in 2025 for PC via Steam and Nintendo Switch.

Dredge is coming to mobile and macOS

One of my favourite indie games of all time, Dredge is a Lovecraftian fishing sim that places you in the boots of a fisherman who is tasked with exploring an open-world archipelago in search of lost relics for a mysterious man known as the Collector. Catch fish and avoid otherworldy horrors at sea while helping the residents of different sea towns.

Available now on PC and consoles, Dredge will be launching on Android and iOS and macOS devices on February 27th, 2025.

Kibu

Experience a tranquil adventure in the heart of the wilderness as a solitary red panda monk who is tasked with building a temple, brewing tea, and venturing into the wild in search of ancient spirits. Build and customise your temple, and farm and forage to harvest nature’s riches. Master a flowing combat system to face enemies, while exploring mysterious lands and uncovering the hidden secrets and stories of the game’s world.

Kibu will be released in 2025 for PC via Steam.

Spirit of Midnight

As a house cat who gains the ability to leave home, embark on a supernatural adventure where you befriend a badger and other animals on your way to restore balance to a forest and uncover its mysteries. Spirit of Midnight will be released for PC and macOS via Steam in 2025. You can download and play the game’s free prologue now.

Rooster

You play as Rooster, one of the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac, who is sent back to Ancient China by the other Zodiac animals as punishment for his terrible behaviour. While there, you meet Little Dove, whose life milestones give you a reason to help and make up with the other Zodiac animals.

Solve puzzles, cook, garden, and enjoy plenty of other mechanics across 12 levels – one for each of the animal Zodiacs – when Rooster launches in Q1 of 2025 for PC and macOS via Steam.

Under Canopies

A cosy survival game where you journey through a beautiful forest filled with secrets and gorgeous landscapes. Build and customise your own cabin, create unique furniture and items, and transform your cabin into a cosy space under the trees.

Prepare meals using the plants and vegetables found throughout the forest, and enjoy a range of activities to keep you busy throughout the day; beekeeping, fishing, and caring for your livestock.

Under Canopies will be released in 2025 for PC via Steam. A free demo is available now.

Crimson Hollow

Set in the mysterious village of Crimson Hollow, you play as a fully customisable character looking to begin their new life in the magical town. Craft and create items from the resources you find throughout the world, with skills like blacksmithing, mining, fishing, herbalism, and alchemy all available.

Complete quests for the villagers of Crimson Hollow for income, crafting recipes, and special items, and uncover the backstories of villagers. Build relationships with villagers and uncover varying secrets and hidden perks to help you.

Crimson Hollow is expected to be released in 2025 for PC via Steam.

Hawthorn

Deciding to start a new life in the abandoned Windermere Valley, you’re tasked with recruiting villagers to grow a community and restore the village. Defend it from the elements and tricksters, and explore the surrounding wilderness for resources and treasures that can help you survive.

Play alone or with friends as customisable anthropomorphic animals, and forage, farm, fish, craft, and decorate while befriending NPCs and experiencing random events over the course of the four seasons.

Hawthorn will be released in 2025 for PC via Steam.

Lost Twins II

A puzzle adventure game that sees you guide Abi and Ben on their journey to find a way home across a hand-crafted world. Solve puzzles and enjoy a breathtaking world with no combat, no dialogue, and no timers.

Lost Twins II will be released in 2025 for PC and macOS via Steam. A demo is available now for free.
