Developer Brimstone and publisher Maximum Entertainment have announced an Early Access release date for their upcoming city builder Overthrown.

On December 5th, the game will launch into Steam Early Access, Xbox Game Preview, and Game Pass for Xbox Series, PC, and Cloud, just one month after the release of its successful Steam Next Fest demo where Overthrown hit the top 40 most played games list.

As a city builder, you’re tasked with creating and ruling a kingdom by gathering resources, growing crops, managing your citizens, and exploring a diverse and colourful world. Manage your resources, stockpile food for the winter, and work to keep citizens happy to expand the kingdom.

Unlike traditional city builders, Overthrown allows you to pick up and toss things anywhere you want, from builders to resources. Throw trees at the sawmill to make plans, run through forests to grab trees, and move your kingdom’s buildings around with ease.

While growing your kingdom, you’ll attract the attention of mutants and bandits. Guard your kingdom, fight enemies using your sword, or strategically grab and place monster nests beside bandit camps to encourage them to face each other and obtain (free) loot.

Overthrown will be released on December 5th into Steam Early Access, Xbox Game Preview, and Game Pass for Xbox Series, PC, and Cloud. A 1.0 version will be released later for Xbox Series X and S, PC, and PlayStation 5, so stay tuned!
