While playing Dredge, you may have come across Hooded Figures that offer you side Pursuits to complete. These Pursuits require you to find and catch fish in a specific order and deliver them to the Figures.
Hooded Figure time limit? Not anymore!
Prior to patch 1.1.0, there was a time limit on the Hooded Figure Pursuits, where the Hooded Figures died if you took too long. Now, however, there is no timer so you can take your time.
The 5 Hooded Figures
There are five Hooded Figures in Dredge and its Pale Reach DLC. Successfully completing the Pursuits award Books that improve your equipment. You can find their locations and learn how to complete their Pursuits here:
Blue Hooded Figure Pursuit
The Figure in Blue can be found near Gale Cliffs at M7. You’ll need to catch the following fish:
- Blue Mackerel (Coastal via Rods and Trawls at The Marrows during the day)
- Tiger Mackerel (Coastal via Rods and Trawls at Gale Cliffs during the day)
- Snake Mackerel (Coastal via Rods and Trawls at Devil’s Spine at any time)
Once you’ve delivered the fish, the Figure in Blue will reward you with the Haggling and Bartering: A Guide book, which increases the sell prices by 5% and reduces buy prices by 5%.
Gold Hooded Figure Pursuit
The Figure in Gold can be found south of Gale Cliffs at K2. They ask for:
- Red Snapper (Coastal via Rods and Trawls at Stellar Basin during the day)
- Fangtooth (Abyssal via Rods at Stellar Basin at any time)
- Blue Crab (Depth via Pots at Stellar Basin at any time)
Your reward is the Advanced Fishing book, which make rods reel fish 15% more effectively.
Purple Hooded Figure Pursuit
The Figure in Purple can be found south of Twisted Strand at E9. You’ll need to catch:
- Tarpon (Shallow via Rods and Trawls at Twisted Strand at any time)
- Horseshoe Crab (Depth via Pots at Twisted Strand at any time)
- Barreleye (Abyssal via Rods at Stellar Basin at any time)
Once completed, you’ll earn the Pushing the Limit: Engines book, which increases an engine’s movement speed by 7.5%.
Red Hooded Figure Pursuit
The Figure in Red can be found near the northern part of Devil’s Spine at L14. This Figure asks for:
- Cusk Eel (Volcanic via Rods and Trawls at Devil’s Spine at night)
- Sailfish (Oceanic via Rods and Trawls at The Marrows during the day)
- Frilled Shark (Volcanic via Rods at Devil’s Spine at any time)
Your reward is the Nautical Engineering book, which slows the durability degradation of equipment by 15%.
White Hooded Figure Pursuit (The Pale Reach DLC)
The Figure in White can be found at K-5 in The Pale Reach. It needs:
- Fractalline Icefish (Ice via Rods and Trawls at The Pale Reach at any time)
- Fallen Stars (Depth via Pots at The Pale Reach at any time)
- Craterous Seer (Ice via Trawls at The Pale Reach at any time)
The White Figure offers you the Book of Astral Symbols, increasing your chance of catching an aberration by 4%.
