Coral Island Pets guide: How to adopt and more
Pets can be adopted in Coral Island once you’ve reached Town Rank E by purchasing a Pet Bed or Pet House from Starlet Town’s Pet Shelter. Once you purchase either item and place it in your home or on your farm, you’ll be able to select one of 20 different pets by visiting the shelter and choosing your preferred pet.
How many pets can you have?
Despite there being a total of 20 pets to select from, you can only adopt three pets right now, and they can only be adopted one at a time. At release, you were previously only allowed to update one pet but an update released in 2024 increased the limit.
You cannot select alternative pets once they’ve been chosen, so make sure you select carefully as they’ll stay with you until the end of the game.

Mythical Pets
In addition to your three ordinary pets, Coral Island also allows you to adopt one mythical pet. Mythical pets are a unique variety of pet earned in the late game. Backers of Coral Island’s Kickstarter campaign could pledge towards exclusive dragon mythical pets, while all other players are – for now – limited to Sawee, which is obtained by planting and growing a mythical pet seed.
