New free update for The Sims 4 adds customisable ghosts to the base game
EA and Maxis have today released a free update for The Sims 4 base game, adding customisable ghosts and grieving to the game ahead of the launch of the Life & Death expansion.
With the new update, you can now create ghosts in Create A Sim for Child to Elder. After passing on, Sims are given the choice to become either a playable or free roaming ghost and said Ghost Sims gain a new set of needs: Goo Waste, Ethereal, Sustenance, Otherworldly Slumber, Spooky Diversions, Ethereal Bonding, and Apparition Cleansing.
When a married Sim dies, their partner becomes widowed, but a new interaction introduced with the update allows them to “Ask to Stay Married” to reinstate their marriage status.
Today’s free update also allows Sims to WooHoo with the Grim Reaper again, and it has added a new Outdoor picture category in Build Mode called “Life Event Activity” with content for Funerals, Weddings, and more.
Alongside that, a new bonfire object has been added, 10 new “true black” variants have been added to 10 base game shoes, and Infant, Toddler, and Child Sims taken by Social Workers now go to the Household Menu in Manage Worlds, rather than being deleted.
Several bug fixes have also been introduced, along with some cross-pack compatible features related to gravestones for supernatural or alien Sims. You can learn all about it here.
The free base game update for The Sims 4 is available now.
