Cat multiplayer game Wild Woods launches in Steam Early Access next week
Daedalic Entertainment and Octofox Games have announced the Early Access release of Wild Woods, their upcoming cat adventure multiplayer game.
Launching on December 9th, 2024, Wild Woods tasks you with forming a squad and taking a dangerous trip through a deadly forest while protecting your wooden wagon from various threats.
In the daytime, you’ll need to collect resources to improve your trusty wagon, while nighttime requires you to face bandit bunnies and badgers, defending your wagon and ensuring its beacon fire doesn’t die out.
You’ll need to decide how to approach the dangers of each adventure. If you attempt more challenging encounters, you can enjoy extra rewards, but going for safer routes offers risk-free resource collections.
Playable with friends in local, fully online, or a mix of local and online co-op, the game also comes with a Remote Play Together feature where you can simulate local play even if friends are in faraway places.
The Early Access version of the game includes:
- 15 unique kittens to select from with customisation options
- 30 diverse challenges to test your teamwork and skills
- 46 upgrades to utilise that can be tailored to any playstyle
- 2 biomes to explore with richly designed environments
- 2 epic bosses that require strategy and skill to defeat
- 6 distinct enemy types to face
- 3 difficulty levels
- 20 achievements to work towards
An Exclusive Supporter Pack will be available at launch, adding three exclusive kitten skins, two exclusive wagon skins, an exclusive Discord role, and a digital copy of the Wild Woods soundtrack.
Developer Octofox Games has also unveiled a post-launch roadmap, which includes a new character role, new upgrades and challenges, improved accessibility features, community-selected features, new biomes and bosses, additional enemies and lore, quality-of-life features, and seasonal events.
