Lovecraftian fishing sim Dredge is coming to macOS and mobile next month
Developer Black Salt Games has announced that its critically acclaimed Lovecraftian fishing simulator Dredge is launching on mobile and macOS next month.
The hit game, which sees you take control of a fisherman and explore an archipelago world while fishing and dredging up ancient secrets, launched in 2023 for PC and consoles to popular reviews.
Now, the game is coming to macOS, and iOS and Android devices via the Apple App and Google Play stores. Fully optimised for mobile and supporting touch controls and controller support across phones and tablets,
The game is available now to pre-order on the Apple App Store and pre-register on Google Play. Those who do can receive a custom starting rod exclusive to each platform, and Apple users can enjoy the “Try Before You Buy” feature, giving them a chance to explore the first area of the game for free before purchase.
The macOS and mobile versions of the game will include Dredge’s The Pale Reach and The Iron Rig expansions as in-app purchases, offering the same experience as the game on consoles and PC.
The mobile version of Dredge also offers customisable visual settings, including options for reflections, and some devices can take advantage of automatic adaptive performance to balance battery life and gameplay quality.
Black Salt Games CEO and Dredge Producer Nadia Thorne said of the release: “We’re often told by our players how perfect a game Dredge is on-the-go via Nintendo Switch or Steam Deck, so bringing it to iOS and Android feels like a very natural step – as many of our players have also pointed out to us.
“We’ve spent some time optimising the experience for mobile screens and touch inputs and it plays really nicely on the small or square screens of phones and tablets.”
Dredge and its The Pale Reach and The Iron Rig expansions are available now on PC and consoles, and will launch on macOS and mobile devices on December 18th, 2024.
